Samburu Luxury safari

6 days Samburu – Aberdares – Masai Mara Lodge Safari.

Day 1. Nairobi – Samburu by road.
AM. Breakfast at your hotel Pick up & meet with your driver then depart for Samburu game reserve with stop at the Equator. Lunch stop at Local Restaurant or Hotel en-route. Road trip: 380km/approx. 6hrs.
PM. Check-in at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar. Do an afternoon Game Drive. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Attractions: The Park is a semi arid ecosystem that teems with a host of wildlife endemic to the northern part of Kenya chief among them being the reticulated giraffe, grevy zebra, oryx, somali ostrich and gerenuk – the gazelle with the longest neck. Other wildlife we come across are elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, impalas and dik-diks, lions, cheetahs and leopard.

 

 

Day 2. Around Samburu.
AM. Early Morning Game Drive. Breakfast at Lodge then more morning Game Drive.
PM. Have lunch at lodge. Relax then go on a late afternoon Game Drive. Overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or similar

 

 

Day 3. Samburu – Aberdare by road

AM. Early Morning Game Drive. Breakfast at Lodge and depart for Nyeri – 225km/approx. 4hrs.

PM. Check-in and Lunch at base hotel then Transfer to lodge arranged by lodge. Optional afternoon Game Drive by arranged by Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Treetops or similar.

Attractions: The Aberdare Ranges is located in the Central part of Kenya in close proximity to Mount Kenya. The topography is diverse with deep ravines that cut through the forested slopes. Animals observed in the park and include; the Black Rhino, leopard, baboon, black and white Colobus monkey and sykes monkey. Rarer sightings include those of lions, the golden cat and the bongo- an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest.

 

 

Day 4. Aberdare – Maasai Mara by road

AM. Breakfast at Lodge then Depart for Maasai Mara N.R. – 450kms/approx. 7hrs.
PM. Lunch stop at Lake Naivasha en-route. Check-in at Mara Simba Lodge or similar. Do an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Attractions: Maasai Mara is a country of vast rolling plains, rounded hills, acacia woodlands, dense thickets of scrub and beautiful views. Its vast plains teem with endless herds of game together with the associated predators This include lions, elephants, buffaloes, hartebeest, wildebeest, topi, eland, impala, gazelles, black rhino (very rare), giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, hippopotamus, crocodile, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackals, among others. Bird species include eagles, vultures, marabou, ostrich, touracos, guinea fowls, bastards, cranes, and many more. The Maasai people who surround Maasai Mara have a rich and colourful culture that any visitor would wish to experience while in the Masai Mara.

 

Day 5. Around Masai Mara.
AM. Early Morning Game Drive OR optional balloon Ride Safari. Breakfast at Lodge then more morning Game Drive.
PM. Have lunch at lodge. Relax then afternoon Game Drive OR option to visit Maasai Village ($30PP).

 

Day 6. Masai Mara – Nairobi by road

AM. Breakfast at Lodge then Departure for Nairobi with stop at Great Rift Valley – 250km/approx. 5hrs.
PM. Lunch at Local Restaurant (African BBQ) on arrival. visit a souvenir market (if time allows). Transfer to JKIA or other arrangement
