MOUNT KILIMANJARO

7 days Kilimanjaro Machame Route
Also called the “Whiskey Route”

Day 1 From Arusha or Moshi drive to the Machame Park gate.Ascent of 1,200m taking 5-6 hours.

Day 2 Hike to camp by the Shira Cave (3,840m) Ascent 840m taking 4-5 hours .

Day 3 Shira to Barranco Valley at 3,950m. 5-7 hours walking with 110m total ascent.

Day 4 Barranco Wall to the Karanga Valley. 3-4 hours.

Day 5 Hike up 150m to Barafu Hut at 4,750m. Takes about 4 hours .

Day 6 1am start to reach Stella Point;another 40 mins and you’re at the highest point on the continent and later descend and 5-6 hrs to get to Shira caves.

Day 7: 5-6 hour to Kidia Gate to meet the vehicle. Return to Moshi or Arusha
